NTIA

/ɛn tiː aɪ eɪ/ noun (abbr.) National Telecommunications and Information Administration

  1. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration. An agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce that manages federal government spectrum use and advises the President on telecommunications and information policy.
  2. In the space sector, NTIA coordinates with the FCC when commercial satellite systems operate in spectrum bands shared with federal users such as DoD, NASA, and NOAA. FCC applications in shared bands require NTIA coordination before grant.
